Writer, editor and college essay coach, Naazish YarKhan has a Master’s degree in Communications from Northwestern University. She currently serves on the Northwestern Alumni Admissions Council. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Bombay University, India. Students working with her on college entrance essays have been accepted to universities such as Duke University, American University, Washington, D.C. Northwestern University, Cornell University, Vanderbilt University, Smith College, University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, University of Wisconsin, Madison, McGill University, Canada, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, University of North Carolina, DePaul University, Boston College, Loyola University, Villanova and more.
Naazish’s essays have found a home on NPR, LeanIn.org, OnBeing.org, and Huffington Post, where she was a contributor. She has also contributed to over 50 international media outlets including Chicago Parent, Chicago Tribune, and Chicago magazine. As a syndicated writer for Common Ground News Service, her writing has been translated into French, Urdu, Arabic, Hebrew, Tagalog, Bahasa and more.
Naazish has worked on curriculum development for Teacher’s College, Columbia University and served as Managing Editor of Halal Consumer magazine and Chicago Crescent newspaper.
A public speaker. she frequently speaks on Islam and Muslims in America, and has appeared on PBS’ ‘Chicago Tonight’ as well as events organized by University of Chicago, DePaul University, DuPage United, and Interfaith Youth Core.
